Norway 0-1 England
Oslo experienced a narrow win for England over Norway last night. Ashley Young scored early on to present Roy with a win in his first game on duty.
England started promisingly and it paid off as early as the ninth minute, when Ashley beat Rune Almenning Jarstein in the Norwegian net. The Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo was very welcoming for the visitors, and England played well for the remaining time of the first period, despite some great attacks for the impressive home side.
Leighton Baines produced a top save from the Norway goalkeeper with an early second half free-kick and Morten Gamst Pedersen kept pushing to try and give Norway a deserved equaliser. By the end of the game Norway were slightly unlucky not to have scored against Robert green, but England win was comfortable and they travelled home from Norway with a victory over them by one goal to nil.
